UNPACKED - The Bioquantum Hypothesis
AKA--It was a trap!
Because I’m not sufficiently busy enough, plotting, writing, having breakdowns about editing before actually doing it, recording and editing audio, and trying to figure out Substack, why not dive head first into discussing the elephant in the room?
So, as you know, all of my stories exist within the same…universe if you will. Of course, you knew that, because you’re the only one here. That means every character, shares the same world, even those in The Bioquantum Hypothesis.
Ok, wait! I hear you. You’re asking, ‘what’s up with that anyway?’ Yes, you are, because it’s what I’m asking.
TBH (that is, The Bioquantum Hypothesis, not to be honest, which is…equally apropos..ok, never mind..carry on), started as a short story, because I, hahaha, am impossibly long winded. I thought it would be hilarious to start in on a genre I know squilch about writing (the world of soft sci-fi), as a bridge to another, bigger story. TBH was meant to be a cute, ‘oh, remember that one story from a hundred years prior to this one?’ kind of thing.
Instead..it got complicated really fast…because I hate loose ends. I hate simple solutions with a pretty little bow, that leave you with 10,000 questions. And, that’s what happened with TBH. I just couldn’t keep my fingers to myself, and I kept pulling at threads until I ended up with a whole world I hadn’t bargained for.
I mean…TBH only existed to explain why an imaginary country, 200 years from now has extreme prejudices toward people with hair of a certain hue. It was going to be a cute little intro to this whole steampunk-esque speculative mystery romance series set centuries in the future, and now…I’ve got a whole farden three part drama on my hands. Because how can TBH just end with teleportation? Did Grey wind up in one of those ‘detention’ camps? Why would Gideon be involved in that? Who’s doing this and why?
As a result of my self-imposed schedule, TBH isn’t slated for a full release until next year at the earliest. This kills me, it really does, but if we want to do these characters justice, and finally dive into the crazy world ahead, it’s going to take a lot more than a nice cover and a basic intro. We’ll need, lights, cameras, and action!
Something I’m notably short on with my current workload.
Do you feel my pain? Of course you do..you’re the only one here..and I…am apparently losing it.
